Practice Description
For the past fourty years, I have had the privilege and the pleasure of helping people solve their problems - personal problems, relationship problems and problems with the world at large.
My ultimate goals in therapy are simple: to help clients enjoy the lives they lead and to change those things that are getting in the way of that enjoyment.
My approach would best be described as eclectic, short-term and solution-focused.
Eclectic, in that is has evolved through a combination of many influences.
The first, is the professional training I have received: as a physician, a psychotherapist, a sex therapist and a hypnotherapist. I have had the good fortune to train with some of the finest names (and pioneers) in Sex Therapy: Masters and Johnson, Albert Ellis, Joseph LoPicollo, and in Hypnosis: Milton H. Erickson.
The second is the experience I have accrued working with thousands of individuals and couples, helping guide them to better places in their lives.
The third is the result of my having lived for sixty-seven years in this world, as an individual, a husband, a father, and a grand-father. The lessons I have learned along the way, while dealing with my own issues have had a profound influence on my practice.
Short-term and solution-focused, in that whether I am treating sexual dysfunction, or debilitating stress, my underlying approach is the same - helping people to find the most effective and the briefest way to deal with their own unique problems.
I do not do long-term intensive therapy as this is not my specialty. If I believe this is what a client needs, I will help find an appropriate professional.
