Practice Description
I work with couples, individuals, families and children dealing with variety of issues. I take an optimistic, practical and nonjudgmental approach to help clients create the changes they want in their lives. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches that best fit the people and the issues involved.
Couple work often involves improving communication, bridging differences, finding ways to resolve conflict, and increasing intimacy. Common issues for both couples and individuals are stress, anxiety, depression, life transition, loss or other problems that keep them from enjoying their lives in the present.
Concerns over children, parent-child conflict, extended family issues tend to be the prominent themes in family sessions. I may incorporate play therapy in my work with children.
I am also familiar with special issues such as chronic pain, disability, and bereavement that have profound impact on all aspects of life.
In addition to working with clients, I have taught counselling at Justice Institute, Vancouver Community College and City University. I am an approved supervisor and available for supervision. I have co-led Mindfulness Based Stress Management course at Mid Main Clinic and incorporate mindfulness practice in my work.
