Practice Description:

My specialty is working with couples. During my 30 years of experience I have seen over 1000 couples. I am flexible in my approach of therapy and try to have the counselling fit with the couple and their individual situation rather than having the couple have to adapt to a particular model.

Typical couple issues such as communication difficulties, lack of affection, conflict resolution skills and lack of intimacy can be addressed and worked through in various ways.

Office Information

  • Surrey office hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 9am - 5 pm; Friday 9am - 12pm.
    Some evening appointments are available as well, one evening per week.
  • Abbotsford office hours: Wednesday 9am - 5 pm

Fees:

As a service of a non-profit Christian counselling organization, we are able offer fees on a sliding scale from $55 - $90/hour.

Free Consultation

In order for counselling to be successful there needs to be a good fit between the client and therapist. I offer a brief, free consult for clients to ask any questions about the counselling process and for them to meet me and see if they feel comfortable with me.

  • MSW - Western Michigan University 1971
  • BA - Calvin College, Michigan, Psychology 1969

Licenses/Certification:

  • Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT)
  • Registered Clinical Counsellor of British Columbia (RCC)
  • American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Level I & II

Professional Experience:

I was Director of an outpatient counselling department for a hospital for seven years. I am currently the Director of Cascade Christian Counselling, and have been there since 1982.

I am a provider for many EAP (Employee Assistance Program) companies and a number of Extended Health Benefit plans also provide coverage for my services.
